Racing at Waverley this weekend where Awpauni has reasonable numbers:

KEEP IT SAVVY (Trainer Lisa Latta) was back to his best form when scoring at Awapuni in his last start. He had the blinkers added that day and was very impressive when scoring by a length and a half over the 1550m. He steps up a rating band and up to the 1650m on Saturday but he has alsways looked like a horse that would go through the grades. In the third of the day Chris Johnson will ride.

RINGO (Trainer Mike Breslin) was hood when running thrid at Awpauni behind Rosewood at the start of July. He then went to New Plymouth for the Opunake Cup and disappointed when only running eigthth. He is better than that and will be a month between runs on Saturday. He has dropped down too 57kg in the weights in what appears a winnable race. With the claim of stable apprentice Danielle Hirini he will be required to carry just the 55kg.

CORNERSTONE (Trainer Gary Vile) in the last of the day he was better when fourth at Hawera at the start of August over the 2100m. He was then up a rating band when only running seventh at Woodville. Back to a Rating 65 on Saturday he is more than capable of taking this out. He has drawn well and usually settles on pace and could take some catching.
